Calculator

This is an offline version of the calculator at the calculator page on this site. It uses Adobe AIR as the environment which you will need to download if you don’t already have it - it should download automatically anyway. The environment is about 20Mb in size but you only need download it once to work with any AIR application, the calculator itself is less than 200Kb or so in size.

AIR applications must be digitally signed in order to be distributed. This may be done via a trusted third party or self-signed. For a limited distribution application like this it is not worth the several hundred pounds the third party way involves. Thus when installing the calculator there will be a warning about the certificate not being trustworthy. It is up to you as to whether you decide to install the application or not. Also you should only install this software (AIR runtime or the calculator) if you are allowed to do so - some companies forbid even freeware programs to be installed.

When asked whether to save or open, choose “Open”

Memory Map File

If you have a copy of Memory Map along with the Lake District map files then this download draws the route for you. The data may also be downloaded from Memory Map into a number of GPS units.
